Targeted Domains mean where do you want your domains to be appeared in search results. If your domain is according to your keywords, you  probably will get high traffic on your website.  when your domain is of the exact keywords, people search quite many times each month, a considerable portion of your visitors will most likely arrive by typing your keywords in the address bar followed by .com.

For example; some people are quite lazy to look up for something on a search engine, so if they're looking for "cheap cars" they will just type cheapcars.com at first and if you have registered such domain, your website will get good hits.

Before registering domain name, you must know about your targeted market as well. If you are living in Canada and your trying to market your products in Canada then your domain name must be your ccTLD( Country code Top level domain) www.yourdomain.ca  rather than choosing TLDs(Top Level Domains) such as.com, .net, .org.

Even though TLDs are considered the best among all other domains but search engines like Google gets you more traffic if your domain has ccTLD extention because Google Targets your website in your Country for having ccTLDs. And if you have .ca in your domain and you want to market your products in other countries then you should go with .com or .net.
